Ever since the two youngsters emerged on the scene at Arsenal, the speculation of their potential amazing futures has surrounded them and the potential future successes of the club. They have both come a very long way in securing themselves a regular place in the Arsenal squad since they got their first team contracts at a very young age, both fighting off fierce competition for places and serious injuries in the process.

When they first emerged on the scene, Arsenal had a very strong midfield with some very talented players such as Samir Nasri, Cesc Fabregas and Alex Song. However, it was not long before the media tipped the two wonder kids to bring eventual success back to the club, considering how long the club had gone without a trophy. Many fans started to trust in Arsene Wenger's idea of bringing through youth players as a group and for them to form a potential unity and lead Arsenal back to greatness.

Jack Wilshere has failed to impress consistently

First we start with Jack Wilshere. Jack had a great first year as a first team player for Arsenal, by single-handedly rocking the great Barcelona midfield and leaving the likes of Xavi and Iniesta stunned at the young 18-year-old's performance. The media tipped him to go on to be the future Arsenal and England captain. However, due to forever lasting injuries in the 2011/12 season, it left Jack on the sidelines for well over a year, which seriously hindered his progress. After returning from injury halfway through the 12/13 season, Jack Wilshere has showed great promise in some good periods for the young father of two, but not being able to string a good amount of games in has definitely hindered his development.

Although his passion and love for the club is great to see from all Gooners worldwide, it has got him in to trouble in his time. He has been pictured smoking numerous times and get's in a lot of trouble on the pitch with opposition players, not that he minds. Although no one doubts the potential the 23-year-old has, due to constant injuries it is leaving some fans unsure whether he will ever reach his best.

Ramsey has impressed since his return from injury

Then we go onto Aaron Ramsey. Aaron was purchased from Cardiff City for a fee of somewhat in the region of £5m. Just like Wilshere, he emerged on the scene as somewhat of a potential superstar, but due to a serious injury that he picked up on an premiership away game at Stoke City, it was doubted whether he could ever make it back to the standards he set himself at such a young age. He came back from injury in the 11/12 season and was a regular in the team for two years, to some Arsenal fan's despair.

Some Arsenal fans were growing increasingly impatient with him as he made mistake after mistake, and was never seeming to do enough to get dropped. However, the 13/14 season he showed how much he was back to his best. Ramsey secured 16 goals in all competitions in the season and lead Arsenal to their first serious title challenge for years. He also scored the late winner in the FA Cup final against Hull in extra-time. to give the club their first trophy in the famous nine years. In the 14/15 season he has netted himself ten goals and throwing in a lot of assists, and even this is with a handful of injuries stopping him from getting a serious amount of games under his belt.

Both of these stars have the potential to become Arsenal legends and can both lead Arsenal to greatness, whether they can do it and both start in the first XI is a different matter. Both are fairly injury prone players so they both need to find a way to stop themselves getting injured as much as they have done, but when Aaron plays many believe he offers more in terms of an engine, goals and assists. This arguably outweighs the qualities that Jack possesses; which includes his work rate, flare on the ball and his second to none ability of passing the ball.
