Arsenal face Wolfsburg tomorrow as they look to secure another pre-season trophy after winning the Barclays Asia Trophy earlier this month. Arsenal are in the driving seat for the Emirates Cup after trashing Lyon 6-0 in their first match, while Wolfsburg lost 2-1 to Spanish side Villarreal in the early match on Saturday. The Bundesliga runners-up may be a sterner test for Arsenal than Lyon, and many changes are expected from the first day of football.

This match could be the closest in the competition this year, with both sides in great form towards the end of last season. At full strength both teams can field relatively equal starting XIs, which could make the match even more exciting for fans. For Arsenal, the result of the first game on Sunday may determine how they play.

The result of the game between Lyon and Villarreal could gift Arsenal the Emirates Cup, with Lyon needing a 7-0 win to overtake Arsenal and Villarreal needing a more realistic 2-0 win to lead the competition. Arsenal were in a similar situation last season, where they looked favourite to win the Emirates Cup after the first day but lost it after losing 1-0 to Monaco.

Should the result of the first game go in Arsenal's favour and they will secure the Emirates Cup, they may relax and be able to play fast, fluid football, maybe even better football than they did against Lyon. Wolfsburg could open up and play good football as well, this could be even more likely if they play a strong team.

If Arsenal still need a result to win the competition then they could be pushing against a well disciplined Wolfsburg side to get one. Whatever the result of the first game, the final match of the 2015 Emirates Cup is shaping up to be a good one.

Team news:

Arsenal played a surprisingly strong team against Lyon, but there will still be rotation for the Wolfsburg game. The headline change will see Petr Cech make his Emirates Stadium debut, something that Arsene Wenger confirmed in his press conference after the Lyon game. He also revealed that Jack Wilshere will feature against Wolfsburg as well. Hector Bellerin, Calum Chambers, Theo Walcott and Chuba Akpom could all also start, but 11 changes might not be a given for Arsenal.

A whole new line-up may not also be a given for Wolfsburg, as they also fielded a strong team against Villarreal on Saturday. Kevin de Bruyne and Ivan Persic both started and they may also again. Diego Benaglio, Ricardo Rodriguez, Luiz Gustavo, Andre Schurrle and Bas Dost may all also start for Wolfsburg as they aim to field a strong side against Arsenal.

Pre-season form may determine outcome:

Arsenal and Wolfsburg have never met before, but pre-season form to date may give a good indication of how that match will pan out. Arsenal have won all three of their pre-season matches so far, scoring 13 in the process and conceding only once. In contrast, Wolfsburg have only won once in pre season so far, a 4-2 win over Zurich

Another good indication could be the club's records against sides from the respective countries of their opponents. In their last seven meetings against English sides, Wolfsburg have won just once. The last time they played in England they lost 4-1 at Everton in the Europa League.

In Arsenal's last ten meetings against German sides they have won just three times, drawing twice and losing five times. The last time Arsenal played a German side at the Emirates they beat Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League group stage last season.
