With the Arsenal first-team playing on the Monday at home to Liverpool as opposed to a usual weekend fixture, it's clear that this week's Star Man of the Week resides in the under-21 team, who played Derby County on Friday. In a thrilling contest featuring a whole host of talented youngsters, the dramatic end to the game finished with a slender, but deserved 3-2 victory to the Gunners. And it was 17-year old forward Kaylen Hinds who made the difference, with a superb brace.

England under-17's international Hinds signed his first professional contract for Arsenal in February and has recently been moved up to the under-21's from the under-18's team. The London-born striker made 11 appearances for the under-18's last season, particularly impressing in UEFA Youth League clashes with Marseille and Borussia Dortmund.

Hinds' brace a sign of things to come in the future

Having made a full recovery from his injury, the teenager started in a creative midfield role - and the former Leyton Orient youngster was a threat throughout. He gave the Gunners the lead nine minutes into the first-half when he smashed a half-volley past Derby stopper Josh Barnes. At the start of the second-half, Hinds thought he had had doubled his tally for the evening, but he was ruled offside after slotting the ball into the net from some promising build-up play on the wing.

Five-goal thriller was Friday night's entertainment for Young Gunners

He did, however, get his deserved second goal in injury-time, not long after fellow Gunners ace Stephy Mavididi made it 2-1. Hinds latched onto Alex Iwobi's precise pass, before powering the ball past a stranded Barnes, putting the game to bed. A valuable win for the Gunners, and a potentially valuable star for the future in Kaylen Hinds - this week's Star Man of the Week.
