Goals from Calum Chambers and Alexis Sánchez, either side of half-time, were enough for Arséne Wenger's side to progress into the Fifth Round of this year's FA Cup competition - following a narrow 2-1 victory over Championship side Burnley at the Emirates.

Chambers broke the deadlock with a fantastic first-time strike in the area after twenty minutes, nestling into Tom Heaton's far corner as the former Manchester United 'keeper was left with no chance of stopping the effort. Sam Vokes levelled proceedings ten minutes afterward, with the striker taking advantage of some lacklustre marking in the area to head past David Ospina from close-range.

Burnley give good account of themselves

Despite their best efforts though, the Clarets were unable to isolate Arsenal's counter-attacking brilliance in the final third.

Gunners too strong to handle

Alexis was energetic and lively as usual, with the talented Chilean linking up with young Alex Iwobi nicely as they were comfortable and assured in possession near the Burnley area.

They ultimately made their attacking intent and potent passing moves count, as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's delivery was finished well by Sánchez, to restore Arsenal's one-goal lead in the second-half.

Plenty of half-chances went amiss for both sides as the clock ticked down, and although there was always an opportunity for the visitors to snatch a late equaliser, it never came.

The cup holders grew in confidence as the match continued, and their returning players - as well as debutant, Mohamed Elneny, made the required difference to help seal a much-needed victory ahead of their game against Southampton in midweek.
