Aston Villa are continuing their busy summer transfer window with another signing, this time Jose Angel Crespo from Cordoba. The 28-year-old Spaniard signed a three-year deal with Villa following his medical Tuesday morning. The information on his transfer fee is undisclosed.

Crespo sat down to talk all things Villa, his new venture in the Premier League, some of his new teammates as well as manager Tim Sherwood and his new life in Birmingham with the official club website.

Joining Villa

Crespo appears to be delighted to join Villa saying that he "really could not be happier" and his "eager to help the team". While the club are preparing for yet another Premier League season, Crespo is well aware of the history of Villa and its fans. He cites them as being "one of the very best in England" and is aware of the importance to do well this term.

Playing in the Premier League

The defender joined Villa from Spanish side Cordoba CF which play in the Segunda Division. While this is his first time ever playing the Premier League, he is looking forward to making his mark. To Crespo, the Premier League is "the best in the world" and is "very exciting every week".

On Carles Gil and Tim Sherwood

Crespo had a lot of good things to say about fellow Spanish player Carles Gil. The attacking midfielder came to Villa after beginning his career at Valencia and playing on loan at Elche. Crespo says that Gil is "excellent technically" and is a "quality play who can make things happen".

The Spaniard also had good words to say about his new manager, saying Sherwood "has real enthusiasm for the game of football" and that he "likes his passion".

Birmingham

With Crespo leaving his native land of Spain and settling into England he is confident he will adapt well. He "likes to try new dishes" and really wants to try food in English restaurants. However, as popular as fish and chips are, he doesn't think the fries are suitable for footballers.

It is clear that he is thrilled to join Villa and work hard with his new team-mates. For Crespo, adjusting to life in England will not be too hard of a challenge and he is very focused on football.
