Romelu Lukaku has rejected a loan-move to West Ham United for the second summer running, with the striker rumoured to be joining VfL Wolfsburg.

The Belgian striker spent the last season on loan to Everton, scoring 15 goals for the Merseysiders. Lukaku spent the 2012/2013 season on loan at West Brom following an £18 million move from Anderlecht to Stamford Bridge in August 2011.

The 21-year-old is expected to lead the line for Belgium on June 17, against Group H opponents Algeria in Brazil.

Lukaku remains unconvinced that he is to feature in Jose Mourinho's plans after Chelsea are set to complete the signing of Atletico Madrid and Spanish International Diego Costa for around £32 million.

German club VfL Wolfsburg are preparing to make a move for the striker if the London club lower their asking price.

Wolfsburg's sporting director Klaus Allofs said: "If the player is getting cheaper, maybe this affair is picking up pace. We are patiently waiting for the right moment."
