Another January transfer window has come and gone but what big moves did Chelsea make?

Ins:

Juan Cuadrado joined Chelsea from Fiorentina on Deadline Day for a reported fee of £27 million. The Colombian winger is perhaps the biggest deal of the final day in the transfer window and joins a whole host of South Americans at the West London club. Cuadrado lit up the World Cup this past summer, helping an impressive Colombia side reach the quarter-finals and leading all players with four assists. An exciting, pacy winger with a bag full of tricks and dance moves, Cuadrado will quickly become loved by Blues fans.

Outs:

With one winger in, another one left permanently as Andre Schürrle completed a switch back to his beloved Germany, moving to Wolfsburg. The former Bayer Leverkusen hitman impressed in his first season with the Blues, including a huge goal in the comeback against PSG in the Champions League. Falling out of favour this campaign, Schürrle's move to Wolfsburg seems to have been welcomed on all fronts.

Also on his way out, Mohamed Salah joins Fiorentina on a six-month loan deal. The Egyptian winger has failed to break into Mourinho's starting XI and his appearances have been limited since joining from FC Basel this time last year. The 22-year-old will return in the summer, hoping to win over his Chelsea boss and earn a spot in the side.

Ryan Bertrand has joined Southampton on a permanent deal after moving on loan at the beginning of the season. The left-back has been in fine form for the Saints and despite picking up a three-match suspension against Swansea, Bertrand's found himself at the club permanently. Ryan Bertrand's best moment at Chelsea may be starting against Bayern Munich in the 2012 Champions League final, a game the Blues went on to win.

Verdict:

Overall, it's been a solid window for Chelsea, despite it being quieter than usual. Schürrle departing may not go down too well with some Chelsea fans but Cuadrado is sure to be a hit. Salah will get much needed game time in Serie A and Bertrand will now ply his trade for an up and coming Southampton side, something that will benefit the young defender quite a bit.
