Serbian international Branislav Ivanovic has recently been offered a new £90,000 weekly wage that would align with Chelsea's policy of giving players over the age of 30 only one-year contract extensions.

Branislav Ivanovic's current contract is set to end the 30th of June, 2016.

Jose Mourinho has recently praised the full-back, who has scored in four of the last eight Chelsea matches in all competitions, including the 1-1 draw against French and Ligue 1 side Paris St-Germain in the first leg of the R16 in Paris.

Reports are displaying that Jose Mourinho is looking for permission from the board to possibly give Branislav Ivanovic a second year option along with the one-year extension.

Jose Mourinho depicted Branislav Ivanovic as one of the club's best signings, stating that Ivanovic is: "A competitive animal with a big heart."

Branislav Ivanovic remains as one of the few members at Chelsea from the 2011-2012 Champions League triumph against Bayern Munich, which was played in Munich's home Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.

Branislav Ivanovic has been at the club since 2008, after being transferred from Lokomotiv Moscow for £9million.

Branislav Ivanovic looks to join fellow Serbian Nemanja Matic, startlet Eden Hazard, and Chelsea captain John Terry to receive new contracts.

Branislav Ivanovic has appeared 33 times this season, scoring six goals and three assists in the time frame.
