Chelsea's Belgian forward Eden Hazard has had his say in the media on the transfer of creative midfielder Kevin de Bruyne from The Blues to VfL Wolfsburg, from last January.

The 23-year-old has proved his doubters wrong, excelling in every area for the Bundesliga side this season having failed to get much recognition by his former employers at Stamford Bridge in the first-team. He has been heavily linked with a move back to the Premier League, with both Manchester clubs City and United reportedly interested in Hazard's compatriot.

de Bruyne has been undoubtedly one of Wolfsburg's best and most important players this season, along with Holland forward Bas Dost, who is in great goal-scoring form of his own. Kevin meanwhile, has recorded nine goals and 16 assists in the league alone this campaign - signalling that perhaps selling him; albeit for a profited value, was not worth Mourinho's while in the long run.

Hazard had this to say, to French newspaper L'Equipe: "Chelsea would have been stronger if we kept de Bruyne, he is a great player. But Mourinho decided to let him go and not play him. It was not my decision, even though I am certain that he could have thrived at Chelsea because he has tremendous qualities. Though I think at Chelsea you have more pressure than Wolfsburg. I would have loved to still play with him at Chelsea, but him getting first-team football is good for him; you can see what it's done for Thibaut Courtois. It's a shame he's gone but he'll surely have a successful career.
