Chelsea are reportedly ready to submit a bid for Brazilian Douglas Costa after just missing out on the signing in the winter as they were only able to complete the signing of Juan Caudrado before the end of the transfer season.

The player, who plays for Shakhtar Donetsk, gained the interest of multiple Premier League clubs this season due to the standard of football he had been setting for his club.

The 24-year-old has played twelve games for his club this season in the league, gaining two goals and four assists. This is only an aspect to his play due to him being a part of the build up to many of the other goals. He has also gotten one goal and one assist in the Champions League this year.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho seems like he wants to revamp the squad after the club’s Champions league failure and he has been watching the Brazilian for a long time now.

But, according to reports, Chelsea are not sure about the Brazilian’s injury record and they have physios keeping an eye on the players fitness through constant checks.

Regardless to his injuries, the Ukrainian club are asking for £20 million for the attacker as it would be a major blow for them to lose the player.
