Few stories have been better than the emergence of Patrick Bamford under Aitor Karanka at Middlesbrough. Along with impressing at MK Dons and Derby last season, the 21-year old on-loan from Premier League winners Chelsea, has scored 18 goals for Karanka's side as they bid for promotion to England's top tier.

With Middlesbrough still in the Championship play-off's, Bamford could in fact remain on-loan at the club if they secure a place in the Premier League next season.

Jose Mourinho's admiration of the Englishman is no secret and his close relationship with Karanka has implied he may be willing to give Bamford his chance at Chelsea next season but a promotion for Middlesbrough could change his plans. Talk of a loan move to another Premier League club has also come about but for now, the striker's future remains cloudy.

His return to Chelsea is down to Didier Drogba's situation and whether his current side can climb out of the Championship. Currently, he looks likely to stay on loan but what club he will be at, we do not know.
