Thibaut Courtois won his first Premier League title with Chelsea last season, and the 'keeper claims that Radamel Falcao would be an excellent signing this summer.

Courtois played with Falcao at Atletico Madrid, where the Colombian striker built a reputation that saw him become the most coveted players in Europe.

Poor form at Manchester United

Falcao's time at Manchester United was anything but impressive, only managing four goals in 26 appearances for Louis Van Gaal, which prompted the Red Devils to pass up on any agreement in place to take up the option to buy.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has lost Didier Drogba from his side that won last season's Premier League so convincingly and he sees Falcao as the perfect replacement for the Ivorian, and is believed to be in talks over a possible loan deal from AS Monaco.

Formidable partnership with Costa at Atletico

Falcao has also worked with Chelsea striker Diego Costa before, the pair were together at Atletico Madrid in the 2012-13 season, they had a formidable partnership scoring 54 goals between them in all competitions, Falcao has also said he wishes to "continue in England"

Courtois stated that he knows Falcao very well and that "he is a good friend of his". He went onto say that it is the decision of the club but "he would be a very good player for Chelsea".

Mourinho said earlier this week that if he can help Falcao reach his level again, he would do it. He then said that "it hurts" him that people in England think that the real Falcao is the one we saw at Manchester United.

He later proclaimed: "He is a great player. I don’t do the negotiations. I just tell my board, my club, the players that I am interested in, the price, what I like. And we will see what happens.”

AS Monaco are "desperate" to move on Falcao, who is surplus to requirements. Any move back to the Premier League seems certain, he may be destined to turn up at Stamford Bridge next season.
