Atlético de Madrid could possibly lose yet another key player to Chelsea as attacking midfielder Arda Turan is currently being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Turan has earned many plaudits in Spain since joining Atlético from Turkish champions Galatasaray S.K. In four seasons at the Spanish club he's made 178 appearances, scoring 22 goals and assisting 32 goals in all competitions.

The 28-year-old has been linked with many of Europe's top clubs in the past few years due to his impressively consistent performances under Atlético manager Diego Simeone. According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are linked with the Turkish International in addition to Jose Mourinho's side.

Chelsea are no strangers to the midfielder's capabilities

Mourinho and many of the current Chelsea squad know just exactly what Turan is capable of, as he scored the third goal in a 3-1 second leg win at Stamford Bridge in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals. Seven of Chelsea's starting lineup that night are still currently at the club alongside Mourinho, who is in his second spell at the club.

Three of the Atlético contingent that night are also in the current Chelsea squad - Thibaut Courtois, Filipe Luís and Diego Costa.

Agent Ahmet Bulut claims Turan's leaving

To add to all the recent speculation, the midfielder's agent Ahmet Bulut has recently told Turkish television channel NTVSpor that when speaking to his client's current club they made it clear that "we wanted to leave Atlético". Additionally, he also claimed that "in the next four days Arda will decide which team he’ll play for next season".

So far this summer Chelsea are yet to make a major signing to improve on their double-winning squad from last season. However, many players have left the London club in favour for first team opportunities elsewhere. Gael Kakuta has signed for Sevilla FC, Thorgan Hazard has signed for Borussia Mönchengladbach following a successful loan spell at the German club, and veteran goalkeeper Petr Čech has joined Arsenal after being used as the second-choice goalkeeper for the first time in his 11-year spell at Chelsea last season.
