In the annual curtain raiser in England, the two biggest London clubs will go toe-to-toe at Wembley for the Community Shield as Chelsea take on Arsenal.

Last years winners of this competition will look to win it for the second time in two years -- which would be their fourth time accomplishing this feat. However, their task will be more difficult this time around as they face Jose Mourinho's club.

Mourinho vs. Wenger

It was another year in which the Portuguese manager won the yearly battle by winning four of the possible six points from Arsene Wenger.

In the first meeting of the season, Chelsea defeated Arsenal by a score of 2-0 at Stamford Bridge. Eden Hazard scored from the spot a few minutes before the half hour mark before Diego Costa finished off the scoring with around ten minutes to go.

The next time the two sides met was at the Emirates as the two sides played to a nil-nil draw with the season coming to a close.

This was a very defensive battle because Chelsea knew that a draw was good enough knowing that the title would surely be won in a matter of matches.

Pre-season Form

The holders had a very auspicious start to their pre-season in the International Champions Cup as they lost by a score of 4-2 to the New York Red Bulls.

Chelsea stormed out a 2-0 lead and probably could have scored a couple more goals in the opening match. However, in the second half, Mourinho's men were completely disjointed and out of position, allowing the Red Bulls youngsters to score four unanswered, including one from a 16-year-old.

A few days later against Paris Saint-Germain, the Blues looked miles better. After falling behind in the 25th minute from a goal by Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Victor Moses finally made it 1-1 50 minutes later. The London club won the tie on penalities after Thibaut Courtois scored the last penalty (5-6).

Barcelona were Chelsea's last opponents in the ICC and it was perhaps one of the most entertaining matches of the entire tournament with it ending 2-2. Again it went to penalties and Thibaut Courtois came up huge to secure the vcitory in their last match on American soil.

Eden Hazard scored a sensational soal goal to open the scoring just inside ten minutes before Barcelona taking the lead in the second half as Luis Suarez and young Sandro Ramirez provided the goals.

How they will line-up

For Chelsea, do not expect to see a lot of change in their starting eleven on Sunday from the majority of last season's starters. Eden Hazard will be starting on the left side of the pitch but will have the freedom to roam around the pitch where he sees fit.

Nemanja Matić and Cesc Fabregas will act as the deeper midfielders with the Spaniard looking to orchestrate the attack by distributing extremely accurate balls to the squads wide players.

The back four should be mostly the same with Azpilicueta on the left, Gary Cahil in the center and Ivanovic on the right side of the defense. John Terry should be the other center half but Kurt Zouma has really grown over the last year so do not be surprised if he is selected instead of the former.

Prediction

With this being the first big match of the season, expect both clubs to come out a little tentative and very cautious in possession. It is always a big occassion when these two sides meet and with a trophy on the line, no one will want to be the one that makes the first mistake.

The match will most likely be decided near the end of regulation as legs are getting more heavy or on penalty kick with Chelsea just edging it based on Courtois' performances this summer.
