The Champions League Group Stage draw took place in Monaco today, with all 32 teams preparing to make a run to the final in Milan in June.

A disappointing exit in the Round of 16 to PSG last season for Chelsea is expected to be quickly forgotten, as Jose Mourinho's men aim to win the club's second Champions League title.

Premier League champions Chelsea, were placed in Pot 1 alongside the other league champions from around Europe and were drawn into Group G. Drawn alongside Chelsea in Group G were FC Porto, Dynamo Kyiv and Maccabi Tel-Aviv.

A return to Portugal

It's a return home for Jose Mourinho as Chelsea travel to Portugal to face his former club FC Porto. After winning the Champions League with the Portuguese side in 2004, Mourinho left to become Chelsea manager.

This isn't the first time the clubs have met in the group stages, having been drawn alongside one another in 2004/05 and 2006/07. The Blues also knocked out FC Porto in the Round of 16 in the 2009/10 competition.

Dynamo Kyiv

This will be the first time Chelsea face Dynamo Kyiv in any competition. A trip to Ukraine could prove tricky for Chelsea as it has in the past for quite a few Premier League clubs.

Chelsea haven't traveled to Ukraine since the 2012/13 competition when they lost 2-1 to Shakhtar Donetsk.

A trip to Israel

Once again, Chelsea have been drawn along with a brand new opponent, having never played against Maccabi Tel-Aviv. Former Blues defender Tal Ben-Haim is expected to line up to face his former club at some point during the group stage.

Former Chelsea midfielder Slavisa Jokanovic is now the manager of Maccabi Tel-Aviv and will return to face his former club, whom he played with for two seasons.

The group matches begin on September 15th and September 16th and trips to Ukraine, Israel and Portugal for Chelsea may prove tougher than most expect.
