A 3-1 victory for Liverpool under new boss Jürgen Klopp only exacerbated Chelsea and Jose Mourinho's woes in a thriller at Stamford Bridge that went the Reds way.

Despite taking the lead early on from the man who signed a new contract, the Brazilian midfielder Ramires, in fourth minute, Philippe Coutinho scored an amazing effort just before halftime that worried the Stamford Bridge faithful.

In the second half, Liverpool put the game to bed as Coutinho scored again in the 74th minute before subsitute Christian Benteke scored seven minutes from time to give all three points to Klopp's men and the German's first Premier League win.

It was the first time Liverpool got a win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in four years and it was the worst start for the Blues in 37 years. To top it all off, it is also the worst start for a defending Premier League champion.

The Apathetic One

Having lost six league matches this season, half of which were at home, Jose Mourinho spoke to the press in which the Portuguese manager looked a broken man. He said that becoming critical on certain challenges, such as the one made by Lucas Leiva, that he would be "punished if I tell you."

When quized about the fans support, he said that he ''takes comfort, but what feeds me is not just the fans. What feeds me is the recognition of our work by getting results."

And when asked about his future at the club with various reports saying that he will be sacked if he does not win, he states that he doesn't think that will be the case.

Chelsea will now host Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League, before their last Premier League match prior to the international break against the side that knocked them out of the Capital One Cup on penalties, Stoke City.

Klopp's Kop

Jurgen Klopp spoke about Mourinho's future, saying that: ''he feels for him, he's a great coach and doesn't think anyone in this room doubts hes one of the best in the world.'' He continued, saying that he was in a ''similar situation at Borussia Dortmund last season when the club wasn't performing well in the Bundesliga.''
