Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace have agreed to the sale of 21-year-old fullback Zeki Fryers for a fee believed to be in the region of £3 million.

The ex-England U19 players leaves Tottenham after making only 16 appearances during his one and a half year stint at the club and never really living up to his potential.

Once considered one of the hottest youth prospects in Manchester United's academy, Fryers signed for Standard Leige in 2013 after being released by the Red Devils on the proviso that he would not be joining another English Club.

Fryers did not remain long in Belgium however and the young left back caused  a degree of controversy when, after only 3 months with his new club, he joined Tottenham Hotspur. This meant that Spurs had effectively circumvented the FA's obligatory youth player fee that would have been incurred if the transfer had been direct.

Despite this early promise however the Englishman has never really lived up to his potential at Spurs and will be hoping that he will have more of an impact at Crystal Palace, where he will undoubtedly get more playing time and may even be able to earn himself a first team place.
