Crystal Palace have signed striker Emmanuel Adebayor in hope of solving their striking crisis, with Adebayor having been without a club since September 2015.

Adebayor will play at Selhurst Park for the rest of the season, signing a 6-month deal at the club.

Having played for a host of Premier League clubs, including Palace's London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, Adebayor's experience could be vital as Palace look to build on a strong season with a young squad.

Palace finally finalise Adebayor signing

Adebayor has been sharing his constant training sessions on social media networks like Snapchat and Instagram, and Palace have been linked with him for some time now.

Palace boss Alan Pardew has been consistently discussing the possibility of bringing in a new striker this January transfer window after each loss in the last few games. The English boss will be delighted with his new signing.

Palace's only fit striker Connor Wickham has just been handed a violent conduct charge, meaning he is likely to miss the next 3 domestic games for the Eagles, so Adebayor could make his debut imminently. Palace face Stoke City on Saturday before a midweek fixture against promoted side AFC Bournemouth

31-year-old Adebayor will discuss his move on the official Palace website later this evening.

The Togo international left in September 2015, having his contract terminated at Tottenham after playing very few games and seemingly having an attitude problem. He came close to joining West Ham United on loan, but Premier League rules prevented it.

Adebayor has played for Manchester City in the Premier League as well, making Palace his fourth club in England since arriving in 2006 at Arsenal. He's also pulled on the shirts of Metz, AS Monaco and Spanish giants Real Madrid.

With 96 Premier League goals already to his name, both he and Palace will be hoping he can reach his 100th in his short spell at Selhurst until the end of the season.
