Crystal Palace have been drawn to play Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Palace have had to overcome Southampton and Stoke City to get this far, and Spurs become the third Premier League side in what has been a challenging, yet so far successful cup run for Alan Pardew's side.

The two sides met as lately as last week when a Dele Alli-inspired performance helped Spurs cruise to a 3-1 victory at Selhurst Park, despite Palace going a goal ahead through Jan Vertonghen's first half own goal. That result followed a 1-0 victory for Spurs at White Hart Lane earlier in the season.

Spurs have beaten Leicester City – via a replay - and Colchester United to earn their place in the fifth round, and are currently one of the favourites to lift The FA Cup in May. Mauricio Pochettino's side have had an excellent season so far with a young and exciting side that includes many homegrown players, and they currently sit fourth in the Premier League.

Adebayor set to make much-anticipated return to White Hart Lane

The game will also mark Emmanuel Adebayor's return to White Hart Lane. Palace's latest signing agreed to terminate his contract at the North London club in September after making 113 appearances and scoring 42 goals.

Just two FA Cup ties have been played between the two sides and both have ended in convincing Spurs victories; the first being a 4-0 defeat for Palace in 1987, and the latest being a 3-0 reverse in 2004. Both ties were played at White Hart Lane.

Spurs have already bettered their FA Cup campaign from last season, having been knocked out by Leicester in the fourth round, while Palace have the chance to go one better than last season, having reached the fifth round but were eventually beaten by Liverpool.

The tie will take place on the weekend of Saturday 20th February.
