After his side’s comprehensive 3-0 victory over fellow Champions League chasers, Arsenal, Everton’s Kevin Mirallas has told the Liverpool Echo that he believes there is still more pressure on Arsenal to qualify for Europe’s elite competition:

“There is even more pressure on Arsenal now because qualification is in our hands. They are obliged to be in the Champions League, they’ve been in it for a number of consecutive years.”

Everton are currently just one point behind Arsenal in the race for fourth place, and have one game in hand over their close rivals:

“We’re breathing down their necks and we can go fourth if we win our game in hand. It was a brilliant performance. It was a must win and we knew that we had to score first in the game.”

“We know having won that, and having a game in hand, we can grab fourth place.”

The Belgian international also stated that playing the Champions League would be a dream come true:

“It would be a great achievement to make the Champions League, but we have to keep working hard and make sure it does happen.”

“I have played in the Champions League for two of my previous clubs and when I joined Everton I longed to do the same. That’s what I am dreaming of.”
