Heerenveen starlet Hakim Ziyech, who has been linked with a move to PSV and Ajax, is reportedly a target for Roberto Martínez at Everton.

Reportedly, Everton boss Martínez has watched the Dutch starlet several times toward the close of the 2013/14 Eredivise season, as Ziyech emerged as the newest talent from the Dutch conveyor belt.

The Dutch youngster, who narrowly missed out on Louis Van Gaal’s World Cup squad, is out of contract next year. Thus, Ziyech would be available for a cut-price fee; reportedly £2.5m would be the figure to ward off the interest from PSV and Ajax.

Ziyech made 28 appearances for Heerenveen last season, scoring nine goals and assisting the same amount. He is also highly rated in Holland and can play in the centre of midfield, attacking midfield and both wings. This flexibility could be a pivotal attribute as Martínez prepares his Everton side for a fight on all fronts.

Thus far, Heerenveen or Everton haven’t commented on the reported interest from the Merseyside club, but with the Dutchman’s contract situation taken into consideration and Heerenveen’s notorious reputation for nurturing and selling youth; a deal could definitely be on the horizon.
