Everton will face West Ham in a replay after they drew 1-1 at Goodison Park.

Neither team really took control of the game within the first half, and it was 0-0 as both teams went into the interval. However, both sides did have a few chances to take the lead within the first half of this FA Cup tie.

Everton goalkeeper Joel Robles was the first of the two goalkeepers forced into making a save, tipping Stewart Downing's 20-yard effort over the bar early into the first half.

Seconds later, West Ham's Spanish goalkeeper Adrian produced a save to deny Belgian international Romelu Lukaku from putting Everton ahead.

Everton were breaking quickly on the counter-attack against the Hammers; Lukaku was again the source of the problem as Ross Barkley played him through on goal for the Belgian to put the ball just wide of the far post.

Lukaku went close again minutes later, just before the sides went in for half-time, after Adrian spilled his shot. But fortunately for West Ham Winston Reid was there to clear.

In the second half, there was little to separate the sides yet again, but it was Everton who were on the front foot early on. Kevin Mirallas' cheeky attempt nearly went in over the head of Adrian - however it went just a few inches over the bar.

Soon after, Robles was making his first save of the second half from Carl Jenkinson's shot after a tricky run needed a touch to be turned around the near post. From the following corner, West Ham took the lead through a James Collins header at the front post after he was left unmarked. It was the 12th corner Sam Allardyce's side had and they finally took advantage of this one.

Everton thought they had an equaliser four minutes later; Lukaku put the ball in the back of the net, but the referee disallowed the goal for a push on Aaron Cresswell.

The Toffees were looking much more threatening offensively after West Ham took the lead, as they needed an equaliser to get themselves back into the game and possibly get a replay at the Boleyn Ground.

Barkley was starting to cause West Ham's defence a lot of problems, forcing Adrian into tipping the ball over the bar after a shot which came from the end of a brilliant run.

As injury time loomed, Everton were applying more and more pressure to the West Ham defence and they finally cracked, as Lukaku volleyed his effort into the back of the net to earn Everton a replay away at West Ham.

Neither team could find a winner in the remainder of injury time, and will not be content with another fixture after quite a hefty fixture list over the Christmas period.
