Kevin Mirallas has ended uncertainty over his future by signing a new three-year contract at Everton.

The Belgian had 12-months remaining on his contract and has been linked with a move away from Merseyside but his new deal extends his stay at Goodison Park until June 2018.

Mirallas has "always been happy" at Goodison Park

There has been uncertainty over his future, with West Ham United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Turkish club Fenerbahce all reported to be interested in signing the winger.

However, Mirallas has opted to extend his stay at Goodison Park until 2018 and the winger said that it was a "very easy decision."

He added that he was "really happy" to commit three more years to the club as he has "always been happy" at Goodison Park.

"My goal is to help the team and our objectives are to aim as high as we can. This is a club that wants to win trophies and compete in European competition."

Mirallas is vital to Everton

Roberto Martinez said "to say I am delighted is an understatement".

The Everton manager added that Mirallas' goalscoring threat and attacking talent will play a "major part" in what Everton are trying to achieve this season.

Another key player signs a new contract

Mirallas has been a key player for Everton since he joined from Olympiakos in 2012. He has scored 29 goals in 100 appearances for the Toffees, including 11 goals in 24 starts last season.

The winger is the second key player to commit his future to the club after midfielder James McCarthy signed a new contract keeping him at Goodison Park until June 2020 yesterday.

Martinez said that the two players signing new contracts will give the whole squad a lift. "The continuity in our squad and renewed focus will provide a strong platform on which we will build the 2015/16 campaign."
