Everton had their chances against Swansea City but a lack of finishing in the forward positions meant the Blues had to settle for a point. We rate their performances.

Tim Howard -  6/10

Everton’s player of the month for August kept the Toffees in the game early on with a few saves off Bafetimbi Gomis but didn’t have too much to do as the game went on. He looks to have shaken off his performances from last season.

Tyias Browning  -  6/10

Making his full Premier League debut, Browning struggled early on with Jefferson Montero but grew into the game. A solid performance that should go a long way in future if Seamus Coleman is out injured at any point.

John Stones -  9/10

Stones was once again one of Everton’s best players, if not their best player. He sniffed out all attacks and linked the defence and midfield together by bringing it out from the back.

Everton fans are delighted he stayed after the summer rumours and transfer talk linking him with Chelsea. Stones is already repaying them with continuous solid performances.

Phil Jagielka -  7/10

Another solid performance from Everton’s captain. He is a constant character in their defence and his performances lead the way for others around him. An early clash of heads with Andre Ayew didn’t shake him.

Brendan Galloway -  7/10

The young defender put in another performance deserving of his early season rave reviews. He is a natural centre back who doesn’t look out of place at full back. He could put Leighton Baines on notice once he returns from injury.

Gareth Barry -  7/10

The midfielder was seemingly everywhere, covering his position and not giving Gylfi Sigurddson a minutes peace. He, like Howard is shaking off a disappointing last campaign and is doing it with some fantastic performances.

James McCarthy -  7/10

James McCarthy covers every blade of grass any time he plays for Everton and today was no different. His energy was vital for Everton’s midfield success and he did a good job when asked to cover Montero alongside Browning.

Ross Barkley - 8/10

Ross Barkley looks extremely confident already this season and was unlucky not to add too his assists tally during the game. He had numerous chances where played in Romelu Lukaku and Steven Naismith and both should have scored.

If he continues on in this current form, he could be in for awards recognition at the end of the season.

Steven Naismith - 6/10

After his hat trick and man of the match performance against Chelsea, Naismith played well against Swansea, getting about and keeping the Swans defence alerted anytime Everton went forward. Would have had a brace on another day.

Arouna Kone - 6/10

Kone missed a brilliant chance for Everton in the second half, where he completely missed the ball. He continues to be perfect foil for Romelu Lukaku, holding the ball up well and drawing defenders out of position.

Romelu Lukaku - 5/10

Bad day at the office for the Belgian forward who should have had a hand full of goals if it weren’t for his finishing.

He may get another chance to find goal scoring form during the week as Everton take on Reading in the Capital One Cup, as the Blues start their run of games against Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.

Substitutes:

Gerard Deulofeu - 6/10

The Spanish winger made an impact when he replaced Arouna Kone, setting up a number of chances where Everton should have taken the lead.

He should have a chance to play his way into the Everton team against Reading in midweek.

Kevin Mirallas - 4/10

Mirallas came on with only a few minutes to go and was sent off not long after.
