Everton outcast Oumar Niasse has been named in their 25-man squad for the 2016/17 Premier League season after failing to secure a move away from Goodison Park this summer.

Summer signing Enner Valencia, who will wear the number 19 shirt during his season-long loan from West Ham United, has also been named in the Blues' submitted list.

Niasse included in squad after failing to secure summer move

Niasse arrived at Goodison Park in January for £13.5million, but looked certain to leave the club this summer after the Senegalese international wasn't given a squad number for the new Premier League season. However, after failing to secure a summer move and new arrivals failed to materialise, Niasse appears to have been given another chance to prove himself at Everton.

The Blues wanted to offload the striker to Crystal Palace as part of the deal that saw Yannick Bolasie switch Palace for Everton for a fee believed to be around £25million. However, Niasse was reportedly concerned that by going to Selhurst Park he could have ended up swapping the bench at Goodison Park for the bench at Palace behind summer signings Christian Benteke and Loic Remy.

Sunderland, Hull and West Brom were also reportedly interested in signing Niasse on loan along with Russian clubs Lokomotiv and Spartak Moscow, but a move failed to materialise before the summer transfer window shut on 31 August.
