Hull City goalkeeper Mark Oxley has joined Scottish Championship side Hibernian on a six month loan spell. The deal includes an option to extend the loan up to a full season.

Oxley signed for the Tigers' in 2008 but has found starts short in number. The 23 year old has played for a number of teams on loan including Grimsby and Burton. More recently he played a total of 43 appearences for Oldham before losing his place in the starting eleven and being recalled by his parent club.

He told the Hibs website: "'I'm really pleased to sign for Hibs - it's a big club with a positive atmosphere around the place and I'm excited about the future. As soon as I spoke to the manager, I quickly realised that Hibs are a club going in the right direction and I wanted to be part of it."

Hibernian were relegated at the end of a tough campaign in the Scottish Premier League. They will be looking for an instant return to the top flight under the guidance of ex Everton defender Alan Stubbs. Oxley continued: "This is a great opportunity for me and I'm determined to seize my chance by helping Hibernian to win as many games as possible and to get the club back into the Scottish Premiership."

Mark Oxley will still be in the Tigers' plans for the future. The club have recently announced further redevelopment of the academy whilst Bruce has brought in a number of players to join the development squad. Mark Oxley's move to Hibernian will help to develop the player even more, as, at the age of 23, he still has a long career ahead of him.
