The 26-year-old joined the Tigers from Norwich for £7m but was injured on his league debut at QPR on Saturday.

Hull manager Bruce said: “We didn’t envisage losing Snodgrass for six months, it’s a huge blow for us.

“He was brought in to give us that little bit of quality in the midfield area. We spent a hell of a lot of money on strengthening our midfield and we’ve lost him for the best part of the season. It’s a tragedy for him and for us.

“Unfortunately he dislocated his knee cap on Saturday and damaged the ligaments that hold it in place.”

After this news of Snodgrass injured City need to bring in some players before the transfer windows end & Bruce admitted he had made bids for “two or three players” but that no formal offer had been placed for Lorient’s Cameroon striker Vincent Aboubaka.

Bruce said: “He’s somebody we’re aware of. He’s a very good player but whether anything will materialise, we’re not too sure.

“Certainly before the end of the window, we have to bring players in.”
