Leicester's development squad is rated highly amongst some of the best in the country. They managed to finish in a strong sixth position in last season's Barclays U21 Premier League table. So just who should the Leicester City faithful be keeping an eye on in the years to come?

Joe Dodoo

The 20 year-old striker has always been highly rated in the youth system at Leicester; their 1-4 win against Bury in Capital One Cup has brought him to the attention of all Leicester fans.

Dodoo scored an outstanding hat-trick and his first goal in particular showcased his ability best, taking the ball over the head of a Bury defender at pace before volleying the ball against the crossbar and into the back of the net.

Dodoo isn't the first to have scored a hat-trick on their first full senior debut. A certain Jeffrey Schlupp also scored a hat-trick on his debut against Rotherham United in the first round of the League Cup - perhaps a sign of things to come for the young striker?

Ben Chilwell

Chilwell is another who took the frame this season, he was included in Leicester's first team training camp in Austria, and he also lpayed 45 minutes in Leicester's first pre-season game against Lincoln City and 60 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Mansfield.

The England U19 left-back is highly rated by manager Claudio Ranieri, who told the Leicester Mercury that Chilwell will be a "fantastic player". This coming from the man who brought through players such as John Terry from the youth system at Chelsea is a massive compliment, and Leicester fans should keep an eye on the 18 year-old in seasons to come.

Hamza Choudhury

Choudhury has long been a fantastically rated young player at Leicester. Sky Sports reported last season that the 17 year-old was in fact being monitored by top European such as Chelsea and Manchester United. Spanish Giants Barcelona were also reported to have shown interest in the midfielder.

Choudhury is yet to have made his first team debut - of course he still is only 17 - but if he carries on developing as he is and the Foxes manage to keep hold of him then a vastly successful career may await him.

Michael Cain

Cain is another of Leicester's highly rated development squad midfielders. Cain was signed from Luton Town at the age of 16 and so far has mostly figured for the development squad. However he spent last season on loan at League One side Walsall where he impressed, scoring 3 goals in 32 appearances.

Cain could perhaps be close to gaining a spot in the first teams, however with Ranieri having brought in highly prestigeous midfielders in Gokhan Inler and N'golo Kante, as well as Andy King and Danny Drinkwater making an excellent start to this year's campaign, Cain may well have to wait a couple more seasons before he gets his chance.

Harry Panayiotou

Panayiotou is a name that a lot of Leicester fans may remember from the 2011/12 season, where he scored on his full senior debut against Leeds United. Panayiotou is also one of the few in the development squad to have played for their senior national team and he has appeared on four occasions for Saint Kitts and Nevis and scoring four.

The 20 year-old has been on the fringes of the first team for a while, however is yet to have appeared since his debut in April 2012. Nevertheless, Panayiotou has been very successful as part of Leicester's development squad. In fact last season he was awarded Leicester City's U21 Player of the Year as well as U21 Premier League Player of the Moth for March.
