This weekend sees the clash between the Premier League's top two sides. Leicester City are currently three points ahead of Manchester City, however, due to goal difference, if the home side manage to claim all three points, they'll see themselves go top of the league.

Leicester maintained their three-point lead at the top of the pile after their comfortable 2-0 victory over Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool on Tuesday night, whilst the Citizens kept up their pursuit of their third league title after scraping past Sunderland by one goal to nil.

In-form Strikers

The fixture also sees the clash of two of the league's hottest frontmen: Sergio Aguero and Jamie Vardy. The latter is currently running away with the Premier League golden boot whilst Aguero's injuries have left him a few places below Vardy.

Jamie Vardy has undoubtedly been the Foxes' best player so far this season and has possibly been the best player in the Premier League. After breaking Ruud van Nistelrooy's incredible record, he went through a spell of six games without a Premier League goal, but in his last two, he's managed three goals, one of which being a definite contender for goal of the season.

His goals against Stoke City and Liverpool certainly rejuvenated him after a barren patch in January where many people were saying that he'd lost the spark he had shown up until Christmas. The former Fleetwood Town man is no doubt in the form of his life and will be putting his focus into leading Leicester to their first ever Premier League title.

On the other hand, it seems that every time Sergio Aguero plays for Man City, he finds his name on the scoresheet. With six goals in his last four appearances, it looks like the Argentine is well and truly back to his best. However, an injury is always lurking around the corner for the mercurial striker, who has missed a large proportion of his sides' games this season.

This makes his goalscoring record even more extraordinary as he always seems to get straight back on the goal trail instantly after an injury. However, when you have world-class players playing behind you, like Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva, it makes the former Atletico Madrid man's life a considerable amount easier.

Defensive Solidity

Before October, Claudio Ranieri's men hadn't registered a single clean sheet in the league. The Italian manager then famously offered his players pizza if they managed a shut out, when Crystal Palace visited the King Power Stadium it was the first time their defence hadn't been breached. The former Chelsea boss delivered his promise of pizza and his side haven't looked back since.

The Foxes have recorded seven more clean sheets since the Palace encounter and will no doubt rack a few more up as they still have to play seven of the league's bottom eight sides. Although they've conceded a relatively high amount of goals this season, their recent defensive showings have really boosted the goal difference as it's taking much more for attackers to get past the Foxes' back four.

Man City haven't been much better in the defensive section of the pitch and the sole reason for that is the repeated absence of their skipper, Vincent Kompany. The Belgian is one of the Premier League's best centre-backs and there is no doubt that the Citizens are much weaker without him at the heart of their defence.

The Capital One Cup finalists have managed 11 clean sheets to Leicester's 8 but only four of those have come at the Etihad Stadium. It's been highlighted over and over that they have massive defensive problems when Kompany isn't available, which seems to be every week at the current time, however, they have finally found some stability at the back after taking just over half a season to find it.

Injury News

Leicester have no new injury news as it's the same two absentees for them with Matty James and Jeffrey Schlupp still unavailable after the pair have had very lengthy injuries.

The Citizens have the possibility of some of their injured players returning for the top of the table clash, however still have a few first-teamers out. Kevin De Bruyne is definitely unavailable and will be for at least another couple of months. He's joined by Samir Nasri and most likely Vincent Kompany who has a small chance of returning to the bench. Wilfried Bony and Fabian Delph are in line to be back in the team for Saturday as well as Eliaquim Mangala, who was injured at the start of January.
