With Raheem Sterling being one of Liverpool's main men this season, many are calling for the 19-year old to receive a major call up to the England national team for this year's World Cup in Brazil. But the does the youngster deserve it?

After a reasonably poor 2012-13 season for the Red's, expectations were not very high for Sterling this season. But Brendan Rodgers stuck with his decision to include the youngster in Liverpools first team squad for the 2013-14 season.Sterling grabbed that chance with both hands and has become one of the best wingers in the league this season.

With both goals and assists to his name, Sterling is looking to take advantage of Theo Walcott's injury, and is hoping his outstanding performances can secure him as the replacement for Theo Walcott this year in the World Cup squad. With his current form, and constant link ups with team mates Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge, he will be one of the top contenders for that spot on the right wing.

He has also shown to have the mentality to become a top player and a key international for the England squad after the alleged assault on his ex-girlfriend. Despite a criminal investigation and court date, he gave his all both in training and on the pitch for Rodgers' side, and he did not let it distract him from his football. This is exactly what the England squad needs as Sterling will not let anything distract him from his ever-improving game. I must also add Raheem Sterling was found not guilty of the charge pressed against him.

So does Sterling deserve a place on that plane to Brazil to representate our nation in front of the whole world this June? Many would suggest this is the case after recent performances, but only time will tell.
