Entering gameweek 31, these two sides are at opposite ends of the table. Cardiff are struggling in 19th place, just 3 points from safety. Liverpool however, are in 2nd position, just 4 points behind league leaders Chelsea, with a game in hand over the London based club. The odds are quite obviously in Liverpools favour, but could Cardiff cause an upset at the Cardiff City Stadium?

Liverpool will be brimming with confidence on the way to Cardiff, after a convincing 3-0 victory over Manchester United on the Red Devils home turf. In addition, Rodgers stars are still in world class form, with Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling still causing defences major problems. The reds midfield is also unbelievebaly strong and ridiculously dominant all over the pitch.

One midfielder who has really stood out Rodgers side this season is Jordan Henderson. Despite facing criticism from numerous well known faces, including Sir Alex Ferguson who criticised his posture, Henderson has shone this season. His impressive work rate has reeled in the praise and even earnt him a call up to the England squad.

Liverpool should breeze past Cardiff in South Wales, but it's not necessarily going to be easy. The likes of Mutch, Noone and Kenwyne Jones could cause Liverpool some difficulties but it is highly unlikely. Cardiff have gained just 4 points from their last 5 games, a rather poor return, which would explain a majority of Cardiff's struggles. With the 3 teams above them having games in hand, this could be a make or break game for Cardiff. If they lose, thye'll be in real trouble and on the verge of relegation, whereas if they win it could revive their fight for survival.

But with all odds favouring Liverpool, Cardiff will need a miracle to leave the stadium victors. And Liverpools attack and defense will not want Cardiff to get that victory. So this time tomorrow, we'll know who's gained more, Rodgers and co in their title fight or Solksjaer and his team in their battle to stay up.
