24-year old Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge limped off in Liverpool’s 3-2 victory on Sunday after 66 minutes; the cause of this was ‘stiffness in the hamstring’, this news came to the dismay of the Liverpool team and fans. He has been in brilliant form this season scoring 20 goals, helping Liverpool’s bid to win their first league title in 24 years, possible.

Brendan Rodgers has admitted he is a major doubt to face Norwich City on Sunday but says that the striker will still play a part in the title run in, as his hamstring injury is "not serious" and should return for grudge match versus Chelsea on the 27th of April.

The Northern Irishman shed some light on the situation by adding “He may well make a real good recovery over the next few days and be ready for the weekend.” Sturridge will undergo a treatment programme in order to try and make the team sheet for the trip to Carrow Road.

The PFA Player and Young Player of the Year nominee vented his frustration on Twitter saying: “Pushing myself to get back ASAP! Fuming I'm injured but it's life. Everything for a reason. God has his plan. #redordead."

If Sturridge’s absence is confirmed, it seems likely that Rodgers will to go with a front three of Premier League top scorer, Luis Suarez, Manchester City match winner, Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling. Also Jordan Henderson serves his first of three-match ban following red card against Manchester City.
