Xherdan Shaqiri impressed millions of football fans with a handful of impressive performances at the World Cup in Brazil this year, leading to much speculation about the 22-year old's future. This speculation has been mainly linking the Swiss midfielder with a move to Anfield and this could finally be happening, with Liverpool supposedly submitting a £14.2 million bid for the wide midfielder.

Shaqiri had a positive first season at the Allianz Arena, making 26 appearances (13 starts), scoring 4 goals and bagging 5 assists. However, among the appointment of Pep Guardiola, Shaqiri began struggling to make the first team, making only 17 appearances in 2013/14, with 7 of these being substitute appearances. This has made the Swiss international unsettled, hoping for a move away from Munich.

With Liverpool submitting a bid which is believed to be close to Bayern Munich's asking price, a move for Shaqiri is looking more and more likely. However, with a number of wide midfielders and attacking players, where will Shaqiri fit into Rodgers plans? Furthermore, will more game time be possible?
