Reports this week sugested Divock Origi was set for a trip up to Boston to meet up with Liverpool at the pre season training camp for a medical and some time to finalise his move to Merseyside, which has been on for a while now. After bursting onto the scene in the World Cup with some excellent performances for Belgium up top, Liverpool liked what they saw and have appeared to enquire about his services and the availability of the young prodigy. But why has Brendan Rodgers taken such a fancy to him?

Origi is a strong, powerful striker who has many attributes. He can hold the ball up and hold defenders away with ease, he can play in the air or on the ground, he certainly knows where the goal is and he has absolute lightning pace and can play at an incredibly quick tempo, something which Rodgers has implemented into the Reds' way of playing. It is their way, their philosophy, and he would definitely fit in, there's no doubt about that.

You can definitely see Origi following in similar footsteps to those of Romelu Lukaku too, a player he alternated with in Brazil. Such a similar player in terms of stature, age, and their pace, power and eye for goal. Lukaku performed for West Brom and even more so for Everton, and turned out to be a player that at times, defenders couldn't handle.

Given that he is only 19 too, it gives plenty of time for even more development and learning, and at a fantastic club too. He could be sent out on loan or he could be kept straight on to feature across the season from the benchh, or in a starting role.  Either way, he looks a class act and exactly the type of player the club will be looking to bring in in the next few years.
