Liverpool centre back Daniel Agger is a target for La Liga giants Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.

SPORT claim that a deal is in it's "advanced stages", with a fee of €15m having been agreed between the two clubs.

Denmark international Agger has been linked with a move to Barcelona during the last two summer transfer windows and it now looks as if he could finally seal a move to the Camp Nou.

Barca boss Luis Enrique has identified the 29-year-old as the ideal man to replace long-serving centre back Carles Puyol, who retired at the end of last season.

Liverpool are keen to cash in on Agger after signing £20m defnender Dejan Lovren this week. The former Southampton man's arrival will mean that the Dane is now surplus to requirements and no longer needed at Anfield.

Should Agger make the move, he will be following in the footsteps of former team mate Luis Suarez, who swapped Liverpool for Barcelona after the World Cup.
