The AC Milan forward is on his way to Anfield for a reported £16m as Brendan Rodgers looks to improve his striking options following the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.

After losing the 26 year old Uruguayan to Barcalona, Rodgers was left with a dilemma. How do you replace a golden boot winning striker? Firstly, Rodgers looked towards ex-Liverpool youth Ricky Lambert. Now, the club is in "advanced talks" with Balotelli.

Balotelli has an impressive record in the premier league. The volatile talisman was purchased by Man City in the summer of 2010. He played a vital role in City's bid for the title, scoring 20 in 54 games and most importantly, setting up Agueros 93rd minute goal to win the title. He then returned home to Italy to play with AC Milan.

Even though his talent is uistakable, Balotelli can be a lazy player. Since his blistering form in the 2012 Euros, he hasn't played as well. He will need serious motivation and disciple to reach this level again.

The big striker will vastly improve Liverpool's attacking threat. To maximise the potential of their current squad, Liverpool should switch to a 41212 or a similar formation. Coutinho will play in the hole behind the two strikers, with either Lambert or Sturridge lining up beside the Italian

"Super Mairo" has a bad reputation both on and off the pitch. His antics, ranging from setting fireworks off in his bathroom to buying a pet pig called "super", have caused outrage. Liverpool will have to reign in the hothead so they can benefit from his incredible talent.

With two strikers capable of scoring 20+ goals a season in front, Liverpool look to be a powerful force in the Premier League and in Europe
