Liverpool in fact saw themselves tied with current Champions League holders, Real Madrid, with the 5 times winners facing off with the 10 times winners. The last time the duo faced each other, Liverpool knocked 4 past Madrid, in a thrilling European night at Anfield, with Gerrard and Torres grabbing the goals.

Making up the group is Basel and Ludogorets, 2 sides that aren’t to be underestimated, although Rodgers and co will fancy their chances of qualification from the group.
