Adam Lallana has set himself the target of ten goals this season as he aims to build on a solid start to his Liverpool career. Despite having persistent injury troubles since his £25million pound move from Southampton last summer, the 26-year-old English creative midfielder has produced some stellar performances for The Reds; but only has four league goals to his name - something he wants to address.

Lallana opened his account with a neat finish against West Brom, following it up with a goal against Leicester and then a double in the 4-1 win over Swansea. The midfielder has set his sights on reaching double figures, which would be an improvement on his tally of nine for Southampton last season. Liverpool's number 20 believes that the team's recent form can serve as a platform for him to score more goals.

"In pre season I wanted to reach double figures," said Lallana, speaking to the club's website. "I've obviously had a few injuries and been in and out of the team, but in a team like Liverpool when we're playing that well there's no reason I shouldn't get that. I'm just looking for the next one. As long as we keep winning, it'll be nice to contribute. But three points remains the priority."

Lallana spoke highly of a fellow midfielder, Santi Cazorla. The Spaniard and Lallana have very similar qualities, most notably exceptional talent with both feet. It comes as no surprise therefore, that Lallana watches Cazorla closely.

"I've always worked on both feet and now, at 26, I feel comfortable on either foot wherever it comes. It's got to the point where I don't think about which foot it comes to. I look at Cazorla - he even hits corners with his weaker foot, which is remarkable. I think he's a fantastic player."

Lallana missed the 0-0 Merseyside derby draw at the weekend through injury, but is back in action ahead of an intriguing run of fixtures for Brendan Rodgers' men, including a double Europa League tie, against Turkish side Beskitas

"I feel we turned a massive corner over the Christmas period, myself included," said Lallana. "We're looking up now, wth confidence increasing by the day. We're knowing each other's game. With Daniel Sturridge back there's competition for places so we're in a really good place and we want to keep moving forward."
