Alberto Moreno has come out in praise of Daniel Sturridge, and has been impressed with how quickly the frontman has returned to form after a five month spell out through injury.

Sturridge has slotted back into an improving Liverpool team with ease, scoring on his comeback against West Ham, winning a penalty on his first start against Tottenham and then scoring an equaliser to help the Reds progress against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup. The goal against Palace was celebrated by Sturridge and Moreno dancing together, following a video of the pair practising in training.

Moreno has fitted in nicely in a wing-back role during Liverpool's recent upturn in form, and believes that Sturridge's talent is adding more to what they already have.

"You just have to watch him play to see how important he is," the defender told the club website. "After being injured for so long, he scored a goal [against West Ham] with his second touch. You can see the type of footballer he is from that. Sturridge is a top player and everyone on the team was wishing he returned as soon as possible - and he's done brilliantly. He's a very important player to the team."

Moreno also spoke about youngster Jordon Ibe. After being recalled from Derby County in January, Ibe has been deployed as a right wing back on the opposite side to Moreno. Ibe has impressed since, even hitting the post with a long range strike on his first start at Everton.

"He is still so young and is showing his value already," enthused Moreno. "He's young, strong and fast - and he can play brilliantly using both feet.

"As well as that, he is from the Liverpool Academy and the fans enjoy having a first-team player from the club's Academy. I bet he will turn out to be a very important player for Liverpool and a great footballer."
