It was another day, another stunning goal and another captain's performance for Jordan Henderson as Liverpool strolled to a 2-0 victory over Burnley in order to keep their excellent form going. Just days after scoring a belter against Manchester City, Henderson lashed in a first half opener before teeing up Daniel Sturridge with a pinpoint pass in the second half.

Henderson was modest as ever post match, preferring to speak about the importance of the result for the team. Speaking to the club website, he said "I like to score any type of goal, even if it's a tap in. They all count! The most important thing is that the team got three points, and it was an outstanding performance right the way from Simon [Mignolet] to the strikers. Hopefully we can keep building and gaining momentum.

"I always want to try and score, and assist. As much as I can, I want to have an influence on the game. The main thing is that we're really solid as a team and we've got fantastic players going forward. If we're solid, we can let them go  and do the business up front."

The Reds have been in superb form in 2015 and remain the only unbeaten Barclays Premier League side during the calender year. Henderson has captained Liverpool through the majority of that run which has maintained his record of never losing when captaining Liverpool, and notched up his 200th Premier League appearance at the tender age of 24 against the Clarets.

"The reason for our form is confidence, we're really solid as a team together and with the players we've got like Philippe, Raheem, Studge, Adam Lallana and players like that going forward, we can hurt anyone. If we're solid from the back right the way through, they'll always score goals and create things.

"That's been key for us and the formation has been brilliant as well. We've been playing with high pressur and intensity and we just need to keep it going." On the 200 games, Henderson said, "The 200 games means I'm getting a bit older, which is not nice! But the captain one doesn't make any difference to me, I just try to do what I always do and lead by example. The perforance and points are the most important thing, I'll let everyone else look at the stats!"
