Luis Garcia has spoken of his joy at recieving such a good reception upon his return to Anfield for the charity All-Star game, as the Spanish midfielder completed the second half for Team Carragher. Garcia recieved huge applause from all sections of the ground, and heard his famous song being sung on numerous ocassions.

"I said from the first day I left the club, there was a connection with the fans and myself. I am watching all the time, all the games," Garcia told Liverpoolfc.com.

"To feel the support of the people every time I come to Liverpool, or from the Tweets I receive, what can I say? I love them - that's all I can say!"

Garcia was one of many who took a final chance to say goodbye to the Anfield crowd after glittering Liverpool careers, which for Garcia included both a UEFA Champions League and FA Cup victory. The 36-year-old spoke of his and his fellow players joy at getting the opportunity to say goodbye one last time.

"It was an amazing feeling to be back. I was speaking with Xabi (Alonso) and Dirk (Kuyt) and they wanted the chance to say goodbye to the supporters. It was brilliant. The LFC Foundation are doing an amazing job, but for the guys it was also a great atmosphere and a great game to say 'bye'."
