Charlie Malam: The mood in the camp is much improved after the win at Blackburn Rovers, and Brendan Rodgers and co. need to ensure we approach next weekend's FA Cup semi-final in good spirits.

Though top-four is unlikely, it's not impossible - and we must approach the task accordingly. Therefore, I'd go as strong as we can against Newcastle United.

With Martin Skrtel serving the final game of his suspension and Mamadou Sakho out through injury, Kolo Toure and Dejan Lovren are my two men in the centre of defence. They both coped well against Blackburn, and they should have enough between them to hold out Newcastle.

In the full-back positions, Glen Johnson did enough against Rovers to warrant a starting spot on Monday. Besides the fact that there's not many other options besides Javier Manquillo - who has gone AWOL - and Jon Flanagan, who is not yet fit, Johnson is probably the best fit. Over on the left, despite shaky form defensively, Alberto Moreno is still the best-suited to the position with Flanagan out and Jose Enrique's fitness unknown.

In midfield, though Emre Can returns from a one-game suspension - I'd probably keep the midfield three as it is. It didn't perform so well against Arsenal, but did a good job in controlling proceedings away at Blackburn. Regardless of the obvious void in quality, I'd back them to have the same effect against John Carver's side - then if things are going wrong, Can is a superb asset off of the bench against weary legs.

In the front-three, who else than Philippe Coutinho takes the attacking midfield role. With Adam Lallana injured and the mercurial Brazilian's recent form, it's a no-brainer - whilst I'd like to see Daniel Sturridge paired with Raheem Sterling to give him a much-needed strike partner and allow fans to assess whether Sturridge's poor form has been a systematic issue, or whether he's still suffering from the culmination of injuries suffered earlier this season.

Charlie's team (4-3-1-2): Mignolet, Johnson, Toure, Lovren, Moreno, Lucas, Henderson, Allen, Coutinho, Sterling, Sturridge.

Ollie Emmerson: A surprisingly encouraging defensive display at Ewood Park, in the 1-0 victory over Blackburn, gives me confidence in Liverpool sticking with the four man defence for Monday's visit of Newcastle.

Simon Mignolet continued his excellent form, keeping another clean sheet and dealing with all the long balls thrown into his box, so naturally he keeps his place. It pains me to say it, as I've criticised him at length for 18 months, but Glen Johnson had a fairly solid game against Blackburn and deserves to continue at right back, as does Alberto Moreno on the opposite side. Mamadou Sakho won't feature due to the hamstring injury picked up against Blackburn and Martin Skrtel serves the last of his three game suspension, so I would stick with Dejan Lovren and Kolo Toure as the centre backs. The normally comical pair actually impressed me against Blackburn, and I have no qualms about them starting against the Geordies.

In the centre of midfield, I opt for a midfield three of Lucas Leiva, Jordan Henderson and Emre Can. Lucas in the holding role helps to break up the surging runs of Moussa Sissokho, whilst Henderson keeping his place is obvious. Can is back from his one game suspension and comes in for Allen, who I don't think has played all that well since coming back from injury recently. A spell out of the team could do the Welshman good, and I'm eager to once again see Can in a more advanced role.

The front three is an easy pick as Raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge and, Wednesday's match winner, Philippe Coutinho keep their places. I would consider handing Mario Balotelli a start ahead of Sturridge, purely because the English frontman is really struggling for form at the moment, however it seems that Balotelli will once again be ruled out through illness.

Ollie's team (4-3-3): Mignolet, Johnson, Toure, Lovren, Moreno, Lucas, Henderson, Can, Sterling, Coutinho, Sturridge.

Calum Paton: After returning to winning ways against Blackburn in the FA Cup on Wednesday, it's hard to see Brendan Rodgers changing his Liverpool team around too much. The front 6 are more thank likely to stay the same with Coutinho and Sterling operating either side of Daniel Sturridge. Joe Allen, Jordan Henderson and Lucas Leiva also formed a much more reliable midfield than in previous weeks.

Mamadou Sakho picked up an injury which forced him off the pitch at Ewood Park, so will most likely be replaced by Kolo Toure; who came on for him at the time of the injury. Alberto Moreno will also stay in the team, but more because of the lack of alternatives than due to performance merit. At right back however, Glen Johnson can still be a but suspect, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Jon Flanagan return to the team following his injury.

Calum's team (4-3-3): Mignolet; Flanagan, Toure, Lovren, Moreno; Lucas, Allen, Henderson; Coutinho, Sturridge, Sterling.

Mosope Ominiyi: Liverpool will look to go from strength-to-strength having secured an FA Cup semi-final date with Aston Villa next Sunday at Wembley. They entertain John Carver's Newcastle side at Anfield on Monday evening with the Toon disheartened by a derby day defeat at the hands of local rivals Sunderland last time out. They were poor but despite this, have enough quality in all areas of the pitch to cause Liverpool serious problems.

The game is reportedly too soon for Balotelli (illness) and youngster Jordon Ibe who recently returned to training. With that in mind, Rodgers' men should look to overrun Newcastle in the midfield and stop the threat of the Colback-Sissoko-Cabella pivot, which in turn will isolate Ayoze up-top and make the talented youngster feed off scraps. Coutinho and Henderson's respective jobs will be key.

Sterling and Sturridge need to be clinical otherwise they may both find themselves frustrated from the early going.

Mosope's team (4-3-1-2): Mignolet, Johnson, Lovren, Can, Moreno, Lucas, Allen, Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling, Sturridge.
