Just days before Liverpool's FA Cup semi-final against Aston Villa this Sunday, striker Daniel Sturridge has missed another day of training and is still a doubt for the Wembley clash.

His hip injury has been persistent recently, forcing him to miss out on the 2-0 home win on Monday against Newcastle United at Anfield. The England international's season has been plagued by injury, seeing him score a disappointing four goals in twelve games. In addition, Sturridge has struggled with injury throughout the majority of his professional career, leading to him only making 30 Premier League appearances in the 2011-12 season which saw him add a Champions League medal to his collection despite not coming off the bench in the final.

Without Sturridge Liverpool have little options elsewhere, with Mario Balotelli just returning from a spell on the sidelines from illness and injury, and youngster Jordon Ibe - who started in place of him against Newcastle - cup-tied after making an FA Cup appearance on-loan at Derby County earlier in the season.

Brendan Rodgers is also left with little options elsewhere in the side, as Mamadou Sakho out of contention and Adam Lallana a strong doubt after only returning to training from the injury he sustained against Manchester United last month.
