Liverpool FC youth goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux has signed a new two-year contract with the club.

The 21-year-old joined from Tottenham Hotspur's youth set-up last summer after a successful trial, and has made a significant impression amongst the Reds' youth ranks, despite not yet breaking into the first-team.

The shot-stopper, who was born in England but qualifies to play internationally for Chile, has signed a new deal after a string of strong performances for the U21s.

Very happy to have signed a new 2 year deal here..! #LFC

The London-born goalkeeper also played 12 minutes in Liverpool's All-Star Charity match back in March, but has only ever made competitive senior appearances during a three-month loan at Conference Premier side Hyde FC last season - where he conceded 30 goals in 12 games, despite several promising performances.

Vigouroux is one of four goalkeepers at Liverpool, alongside no.1 Simon Mignolet, back-up Brad Jones - whose long-term future at the club looks in doubt - and fellow youngster Danny Ward.

Brendan Rodgers is understood to be willing to send Ward, who has spent time at Morecambe this season, out on loan again next year to gain further first-team experience - whilst a goalkeeper capable of challenging Mignolet in between the sticks is also a target for the Northern Irishman.
