Roberto Firmino has today passed his Liverpool medical, meaning that he has formally completed all aspects of his move to the club.

The Brazilian agreed a contract with the Reds almost two weeks ago now, after Bundesliga side Hoffenheim accepted an offer of £22million rising to £29m for his services.

Liverpool had confirmed the transfer, but were unable to put Firmino through his medical due to the midfielder's Copa America commitments in Chile.

However, since Brazil were knocked out of the tournament, Firmino has been free to complete his medical, as Liverpool's club doctor Andy Massey flew out to South America in order to help him under-go it.

What next?

Just like fellow countryman Philippe Coutinho, he'll remain on holiday for the next three weeks, as the Merseyside club looks to give him a proper rest following his international exploits.

Despite this, they'll be hoping that Firmino can give the side a boost of creativity when the season begins with a trip to Stoke City on August 9th, as Liverpool look to improve upon last season's finish of sixth place.

More arrivals?

Firmino became Liverpool's fifth summer signing at the time, following James Milner, Danny Ings, Joe Gomez and Adam Bodgan to Anfield. Since his arrival, Nathaniel Clyne has also completed a move to L4.

It remains to be seen whether there will be any more additions, with a striker and full-back reportedly still on LFC's wish-list.

Christian Benteke is a long term target, and it looks like a possible move for him could be edging closer, after it was revealed that the Belgian forward is set to tell Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood that he wishes to leave the club this summer.

Any deal for the striker could cost upwards of £30million, although Liverpool aren't willing to pay that price at the moment.
