Looking to extend on what has been an impressive pre-season tour so far, Liverpool will face Adelaide United on Monday morning - attempting to make three wins from three games.

Liverpool faced Brisbane Roar just two days ago, in what was a difficult game for Brendan Rodgers' side, but after going one goal down early in the first-half, they fought back and managed to win 2-1.

Adam Lallana scored his second goal in two games, whereas James Milner managed to score his first goal for the club. Both will be looking to impress again as the season draws closer.

Team news

After news came out over the weekend that Liverpool have met the release clause for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, many fans were eager to know when they will first see him play.

But due to his medical this Monday, Benteke is not going to be joining up with his new team-mates whilst they are on tour.

Liverpool are also expected to be without Rickie Lambert, after he suffered a training injury. As a result, he was sent to hospital for a scan, but the injury is not thought to be serious. Lambert has featured in both games so far.

After Brendan Rodgers ruled out Joe Gomez leaving on loan after his impressive start to his Liverpool career, the young English defender will be looking at these final tour games as a chance to show he should be a first team starter.

The natural centre-back, featured as a left-back during the game against Brisbane Roar and after a superb performance, many fans think he could be the first choice left back next season, after a tentative first season from Alberto Moreno and Jose Enrique looking set to leave.

Jordon Ibe and Lazar Markovic will also be hoping to use these final games as a way to show the club that they do not need to purchase another winger following the departure of Raheem Sterling. They will both be hoping to step up next season and cement down a regualr starting position.

Adelaide United

Liverpool's opponents will be well prepared for this fixture after hosting two matches recently, both against big clubs.

At the end of May, Adelaide United faced Villarreal. They did not make it easy for the Spanish club and managed to get a respectable 3-2 loss against the Spanish giants.

More recently, Adelaide United played Manchester City. Just four days ago, City travelled to Australia to play them in a friendly and emerged victorious with a 2-0 win.
