Liverpool Academy graduates Jordan Rossiter and Sheyi Ojo have been called up for England under-19s two fixtures next month, completing what has been an excellent few days for the duo.

The midfielder made a surprise league debut away at Arsenal on Monday evening, coming off the bench with 15 minutes to go to help consolidate a point in a 0-0 draw.

Ojo, meanwhile, scored his first goal on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday night - as the Championship club overcame Barnet to reach the third round of the Capital One Cup with the winger putting in a Man of the Match display.

And now, the Liverpool duo's week has only gotten better - with the two 18-year-olds called up to the U19s' 20-man squad for the first time for their games against Germany and Croatia.

The highly-rated pair will be looking to edge themselves into Aidy Boothroyd's plans for the coming Euro U19 Championships first qualification round in October, which has paired the Three Lions with Macedonia, Finland and Italy

Call-ups complete memorable week for Liverpool youngsters

Ojo has only ever previously played for the U18s, U17s and U16s - scoring four goals in a combined 22 appearances, whilst Rossiter has appeared in all the same age groups - scoring two goals in a total of six games.

They join the likes of Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles, currently on loan at Ipswich Town and Chelsea forwards Tammy Abraham, Dominic Solanke and Isaiah Brown - the latter two of whom are out on loan at their partner club Vitesse Arnhem, whilst Patrick Roberts - who joined Manchester City last month - is also involved.

It follows a week in which Jordon Ibe and Joe Gomez were called up for England's under-21s, whilst Jordan Williams and Danny Ward - both out on loan currently - were called for Wales' senior squad.

There was less good news for Mamadou Sakho, who missed out on inclusion for the France national team, though Emre Can has been included in Germany's squad, and is expected to play a prominent role.
