Liverpool will be focusing on maintaining their unbeaten start to the Premier League season, when they host West Ham United at Anfield on Saturday.

The Reds lie in third place after three games, having picked up seven points whilst playing with a style that we've rarely seen since Brendan Rodgers took the helm three years ago.

Can Liverpool continue their excellent form?

Cleansheets in every single game, and only two goals scored, Rodgers' men have focused on keeping it tight at the back, and then going forward, led by their new man Christian Benteke.

A 1-0 away win at Stoke on the opening day was followed up by a narrow 1-0 win at Anfield against Bournemouth.

Despite these wins, Liverpool's best performance of the season so far came during the 0-0 draw against Arsenal last week, as the Reds dominated for the first 45 minutes at the Emirates - Philippe Coutinho hitting the woodwork twice.

However, West Ham will produce a different challenge. Shaking off the disappointment of their Europa League exit, Slaven Bilic's men recorded a shock 2-0 away win against Arsenal on the opening day, proving that they have the ability to come away from the most difficult grounds to play at with victories.

Liverpool will take some comfort from the fact that the Hammers followed up the Arsenal win with two consecutive home losses, being defeated 2-1 by Leicester City and 4-3 by Bournemouth. Another comorting stat for the home side, is that West Ham haven't won at Anfield since 1963.

Team news

There are a few injury concerns for the Reds, who remain without captain Jordan Henderson, who came off against Bournemouth with a foot injury. It's thought that this will keep him out of the upcoming international break, as Liverpool's medical team look to fix the problem.

This could see Emre Can start again after he impressed against Arsenal, however defensive midfielder Lucas Leiva could be relegated to the bench as Liverpool look to take a more positive approach to the game.

Adam Lallana is another doubt due to a hip problem, whilst the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Jon Flanagan and Joe Allen remain out with longer term injuries.

Adrian and Carl Jenkinson are both suspended for West Ham, who are also without Enner Valencia, Mauro Zarate and Andy Carroll due to injury.

Diafra Sakho, who scored at Upton Park last season as the Hammers beat Liverpool 3-1, could return after injury and a recent arrest.
