Sergi Canos is expected to go out on loan to Championship outfit, Brentford, as the young Spaniard looks to gain some much needed experience with the London club.

After moving to Liverpool from the well documented La Masia academy in Barcelona, the right winger come striker had impressed with Neil Critchley's under-18 squad on Merseyside before making the eventual step up to Michael Beale's under 21 side.

His impressive displays during the 2014/2015 season earned the exciting prospect a call up on a regular basis to Melwood to train with Brendan Rodgers and the first-team squad.

The Spaniard earned great praise for his eye catching performances in the opening few games for Beale's U21s this season, managing to grab a goal against Everton in a thrilling 3-3 mini-derby encounter.

Canos strengthens Brentford's ranks

Brentford have brought in a host of players this summer, as well as a managerial change, but the Griffin Park club haven’t started the season like they would’ve wanted to.

After their opening four games, Brentford remain slumped in the bottom half of the Championship table with just four points to their name, and their only win coming in a narrow victory against newly promoted Bristol City, who were forced to play the majority of the game with ten men after Luke Freeman saw red.

Brentford last took a player off Liverpool on-loan, when they acquired Joao Carlos Teixeira from the famous Liverpool academy, largely due to the fact that former Liverpool academy director, Rodolfo Borrell and ex-under-18s manager, Frank McParland, had just arrived at the club.

The loan spell for Teixeira didn’t prove to be a successful one, however, it did give Teixeira his first experience in senior football which allowed the Portuguese star to go on to make a Premier League appearance for Liverpool, before a brilliant spell with Brighton & Hove Albion in the Championship last season.
