Liverpool youngster Samed Yesil is set for a year away from Merseyside, after agreeing a season long loan move to Swiss side FC Luzern.

Yesil links up with a former Red, Markus Babbel, who manages the side. He was a crucial player  for Liverpool in their run to a treble in 2011, performing superbly at right-back.

The transfer will hopefully give Yesil a chance to return to the glittering form that saw him wanted by a number of clubs, before eventually making a move from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2012.

Two senior appearances followed in the following season, before a broken leg set his development back hugely. He came back from that injury last season, finding some form for the under-21 side, and a season of senior football seems the next logical step.

No place on L4 for Borini

With Fabio Borini, Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli all leaving L4 this summer, it had looked like the 21-year-old could have a shot at first team football this season, however the incomings of Danny Ings, Christian Benteke and Divock Origi (upon his return from a loan), lessened those chances.

Yesil is the latest in a long number of Liverpool youth players to leave on loan this sumer, with the likes of Harry Wilson, Sergi Canos, Sheyi Ojo. Lazar Markovic has also found himself loaned out for the season, however that was a more surprising move.

Can he follow Ibe's example

Yesil will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Jordon Ibe, who shot to prominence in the Reds' first team last season after a six month loan spell at Derby County.

Ibe returned and made his debut against Everton, kicking on from there, and is now a valued member of Brendan Rodgers' squad for the upcoming season.
